65 - Rebel Eyes

Rainy days are pretty much Rebel's hateful days...it means no walk for him.

As much as I would love to take him outside so he could do his doggy deed, we can't.

The last time he was out and the weather was wet...well it was a freaky storm; he kept playing with the running water on the street. My father had a hard time staying under a shed since Rebel had plans to walk despite the down pour. To add insult to injury, he was "talking" back since we were in a stand still and he was supposed to be on a walk.

So right now, we're both stuck waiting out on the rain so we could both go outside. And well, it's the only way I could get any sleep since he has a tendency to make us suffer along with him.

47 - Cry Me a River

Despite loving the cold weather, the storm has Rebel upset, because he now understands that rain means no walk for him.

Here he is lying by the gate in our garage watching the rain. Poor Rebel. If dogs know how to pray then God must listen to them often, the storm has passed already and I'm sure he's anticipating his walks.

27 - The Waiting Game

See them laying there all pretty? Only when they're asking for something. Conniving brats!

This is the monsters waiting for dinner.

26 - The Wrestling Match

This is the typical occurrence at home. Both monsters would play after eating, before eating, before their walk, after their walk...every bloody waking moment unless they are sleeping.

As much as my mother would like to have more decor in our apartment, living with these two monsters makes it not possible.

23 - The Negotiation

This is Rebel and my sister negotiating on Rebel's night walk. He's trying to convince her that it's no longer raining and it's safe to take him outside.

21 - Thinker Whispers

The monsters in the living room. Pensively waiting for their night walk. This was taken right after they had their dinner and they know they're going for a walk after.

I am not a good trainer for our dogs, I do not have the patience to be very good at it. However, I am thankful that despite Tinker's phobia and issues with strangers and kids, he's good at guarding the house. I just can't walk him like we do with Rebel.

I have to take him out at night when everyone's asleep least he chases after people or anyone on a bike. My buddy is turning out to be rather strong and heavy.

We don't go to the main road. He's afraid of cars.
He runs and walks around the small dirt road in our apartment and plays with the small dogs on the neighborhood despite the fact that they hate him.

This is why i hate my neighbors. Hypocrites and a bunch of abusive assholes. No. I have not and have no plans to forgive that guy who threw a firecracker at my dog, just cause he thought Tinker was the stray dog who tries to bite him every time he walks by. You are the reason my dog has a phobia sad the reason he's rabid with strangers.

One night in jail was not enough in my book.

17 - Dog Walk

Rebel at Jollibee Parkmall: after walking from the apartment to the mall for dinner with my sister. He really really likes long walks but hates crowds. Now to get Tinker trained and have his phobia fixed, dog walks would be perfect. Well, if cats don't roam the streets would actually be more perfect.

15 - Siesta

The usually turn up in my room after lunch...since my room is at the back of the apartment and not much sun comes in. And added the fact that they liked the AC or the electric fan turned on.

12 - Doggy Bussiness

Rebel intent on finishing off the chew toy before Tinker wakes up.

Sneaky sneaky husky.

Bark for Love 2012

Despite the lack of sleep and a hangover, picked up my sister at Lexmark so we could go to Mactan Shrine for the Bark for Love 2012 dog event.

I told a number of friends to visit, specially those with dogs since there were free immunization, castration, de-worming and checkups.

‘Couldn’t stand the castration process though. I couldn’t go near their booth to take a photo. The one time I did see what was happening, I felt faint already. I’m not really the queasy type of person that easily faints at the sight of blood or needles. It broke my heart, watching dogs administered with anesthesia that seems to make them sleep while they are being castrated. Rebel and Tinker are both male dogs. I cannot imagine putting them through that.

Aside from the castration booth, basically I loved the event.  Being held in such a historical sight, with the ocean and shrine’s picturesque setup and adding the festive mood, it was definitely fun and a great event to meet old friends and possible new ones. I mean, what’s a good way to start up a conversation but dogs?

The organizers were really set on the rules and had the assistance of the local government. There were a number of police officers on the area to prevent and act on any theft or criminal activity that may occur as well as to monitor kids and dogs who were swimming nearby. A number of the cleaning aid were also present to immediately clean up the area. Since the entire shrine area was mapped out to have the organization booths, vet stations, food and beverages and dining area in separate parts, it was easier for people to navigate around. SO definitely a kudos to the organizer and the local government of Lapu-lapu City.

On Rabid Cops and the Doggy Payoff

Canon SD 059January 10, 2012 Rebel was able to open the garage gate and out of the apartment. A bystander informed us that he was taken by police officers around 12 midnight. The police station in Mandaue has logged that he was taken to the Cebu City Dog Pound and not the Mandaue City Dog Pound. The officer who informed my sister, was baffled why he was sent to another city pound when it would have been outside the Mandaue Police Station jurisdiction.

We called the police officer who was in charge of Rebel’s case to meet us at the Cebu City Dog Pound the next day at 8am since the Dog Pound official was unable to release Rebel (because the lock used on Rebel’s cage were owned by the cops). SPO2 Gil Tomada informed us that he would have preferred to fetch Rebel and meet us at location of his choosing. We informed him that we are unable to wait more than we have to and would prefer an official release of our dog.

8am earlier today, we visited the Cebu City Dog Pound near SM City. Honestly, the place is hell. I hope the local government could spare more for the City pound budget this 2012.

SPO2 Gil Tomada informed us that Rebel killed 3 chickens and that the owner has asked for a compensation of 1.5k for each chicken, as well as the gasoline used up when they drove Rebel to the pound, and because they got their uniforms dirty when trying to catch him.

When we asked where the chickens were to confirm that Rebel did kill them, we were informed that they had to throw them away. And no, they didn’t take photos for evidence.

We have asked the officer that we would prefer to pay the owner personally as well as thank him for ensuring Rebel was taken to the pound where we could find and get him back easily. He then got mad, and told us he wasn’t exploiting for money. (Where the fuck did that came from?)

He then said that if he knew we were not going to pay for Rebel’s damages, he should have taken him for himself since he likes dogs and has a Doberman. (Does this mean he would have paid the owner of the chicken himself? Where is that oath, to protect and serve go?)

One of the vets at the City pound has advised that we had to pay 150 pesos for registration and 500 for his overnight stay. And any additional charges if Rebel was behind his anti-rabies shots, which he wasn’t. The City pound would have release him with the required payments, as well as proof of his up-to-date shots and proof of ownership, which we provided with Rebel’s health card from his vet and the rest of his paperwork.

SPO2 Gil Tomada refused to release Rebel without his partner SPO1 Salvador Pugoy, because he did not have the key to the lock. The pound caretaker informed us that there are two doors to each cage and they could open the other door to release Rebel.

We did pay 2k and have asked the City Pound caretaker to sign as witness that we handed cash to the police officer. SPO2 Gil Tomada asked us our full address, which we have not provided completely. Honestly, I feel that the next time there’s a break in in our apartment, I’d hunt cops first before I pray for the dismemberment of the asshole who ransacked us before.

1. This is why the police have a bad reputation, they have assholes like this guy on the force. Where is that oath: to protect and serve? I am more afraid of them than the criminals they assure they protect us from.

2. Why would he send Rebel to the Cebu City Pound and not the city pound where Rebel was taken? I don’t believe in trivial mistakes. Not regarding jurisdiction and SOPs. My mom was a cop. I don’t get away with shit when she’s on cop mode.

3. I’d like to speak with the owner of the chickens Rebel killed and see if they were hens or fighting cocks. I could buy the guy lots of chickens. Anyway, a life for a life right? Even if it’s a chicken’s life on the line.

4. Compensation for gasoline and getting their uniforms dirty. I wonder if they also ask the criminals they apprehend for gasoline and laundry service fees. I ought to show the asshole how much taxes I pay every month…for assholes like them to fuck us over like this.

5. Because I am vindictive, I am writing this blog. "Blogging is not journalism, it is graffiti with punctuations"; therefore I’m spreading this graffiti. And giving their names to my mother and her not too shady friends as well as my sister asking assistance from the members of the Husky Empire club.

6. Because I am not a nice person, his phone number as logged on the Cebu City Dog pound is 09293834194. It might be a burnt phone though.

Right now we’re happy Rebel is home and getting a much needed bath.

I am praying Tinker gets over his fear of people so we could start training him to eat assholes including rabid cops who wants doggy pay offs.
