61 - Laundry

Was singing my heart out to an Incubus song when I was doing my laundry.

Isn't it interesting what you would do alone and with the thought there's no one to witness whatever it is you do.

I admit. I have a tendency to really sing (my heart out) when alone. Or dance to my heart's content. To talk to myself. To practice a line (that I might say some time in the future).

Although I'm sure the monsters have witnessed a few of my "secret" quirks. Tinker tends to grumble and jump me while Rebel just rolls his eyes at me.

Those reactions I can deal with. Unlike the possible reactions from friends or complete strangers.

So in a way, despite how tiring it is to do my laundry, it's an outlet or a secret place from the world.

60 - Date

I try to avoid going to the malls during sales. However I was unfortunate enough to be in one during a sale, a holiday sale, a holiday midnight sale.

Too many people and too many stuff and getting a cab was beyond frustrating.

To top is off, I wasn't able to find a green dress for Albert's wedding nor was I able to get any gifts since the people I planned to give them to were with me.

*sigh* epic

So...I would brave the malls again this weekend before I head home to Tacloban.

Wish me luck. I would definitely need it.

59 - Panda

Animal beanies are fun. The panda beanie my cousin Rem is wearing is one of 4 I had my friend Jayvee ordered from Star City.

It makes for an awesome photo prop. =)

I remember when I got them and had to bring them to the office with me. My office mates took turns wearing them and having their photos taken. For a few minutes the entire department wasn't focused on numbers. LOL

58 - Keys

Aside from my camera, my laptop is a constant companion.

Sounds rather materialistic I know. But to be honest, on times I am on my own, I spend productive and non-productive stuff with my laptop.

Aside from blogging, uploading photos, and a few times working, I read ebooks both for learning and lieasure.

I still appreciate actual paperbacks. However, since I live in a country where most books that get on our book stores are the popular ones...I don't get to read some of the books I want. Thus I end up with ebooks as an alternative.

So far, I think I have been reading too much lately. LOL

57 - A Fish in a Tree

Been trying to bring my camera to work lately since our IT guy says it's okay to do so.

This is a decor on the "Chinese" corner where my fellow trainees and I are currently stationed on the floor.

Despite the idea of working in an industry I've barely had any idea, work or training so far has been interesting. Adding the fact that I am actually interacting with people than I used to is surprisingly nice.

This could be adding up to why I am really looking forward to the holidays this year. The endless possibilities and the memories I am looking forward to be making with new people in my life.

56 - Starting the Day with the Right Color

I may sound like a broken record but I have to say it again: I am not a morning person.

To compensate for the ungodly hour or you could also call it a strategy to get my head out of thinking what time of the day it is, I try to think positive. Nothing beats color to hammer that down when I'm sleep walking on the current routine I am in.

55 - Greeting the Morning with a Smile

Despite being a loud, slightly disturbed dog, I love that Tinker tried to greet me every morning and when I come home to the apartment.

Here he is when I got out of the bathroom. Still guarding even when his humans are home.

54 - A Ribbon for Christmas

One of the very few decors in the apartment.

Since we live with monsters, my sister decorated the apartment with wall (door) Christmas decors to lighten up the place a bit and to have the place in a festive mood with Christmas a few days away.

51 - My Blood for Coffee

Now that I'm back on the employed listings...I find it hard waking up early in the morning in order that I can beat heavy traffic to work.

I am not a morning person. My brain is barely functional at this time of day.

I hope to be set on the EMEA shift so I could have my mornings free to sleep in or to work on some chores PLUS I won't have to deal with heavy traffic on my way to work and on getting back to the apartment.

For now, I am dealing with the early hour. And coffee is my only friend.

Ohayo!!!!

53 - Flying Towards the Sun

The Manila venture seemed like a day trip since my sister and I had to be back to Cebu on Monday.

We made the earliest flight out so I could make it to my training class.

Since there were only a few passengers, we opted to take photos as the sun rose up. The window glass was a bit dusty and I didn't get the best seats since we had an obstructed view. Still...shooting away at clouds and the sunset. Trigger-happy moments.

52 - The Red Mask

Despite going to Manila for the VW 2012 Exhibit, which I definitely enjoyed and had taken tons of photos, my sister and I also met up with our cousin Ace so we could visit his place and his dog Basti.

We ended up walking the dog around the condo grounds while talking or more like catching up since the last time we were together was on our cousin's wedding last June.

I am looking forward to being home this December for Albert's wedding as well as spending Christmas with my family. Been a while since I've been home for Christmas. Often I'm there for New Year.

However, I am near panic mode with having no time to buy gifts and getting a bloody green dress for Albert's wedding. *sigh*

50 - Iced Water

Who doesn't love iced water or just cold water?

Living in the Philippines, as they say, water is life. It's a tropical country where officially we have only 2 seasons. Sun and Rain or more like Summer and Spring. The rest are just different degrees in between them.

I too am curious about Autumn and Winter. I have no idea about those two except what I've read from encyclopedias and from what I've seen from the telly. More specifically on the Nat Geo channel.

The closest thing I've got to winter is the darn freezer on the ref.

"I don’t know winter like you do; I’ve never felt snow melting
It’s whiteness is a mystery for me. It’s moisture
Just like its coldness, I could only relate to a machine
I have nothing to compare it to, as I have never met your ice mistress

I only know of summer and raging storms
Both feral, both dynamic. An unending motion of everything
It is sand and mud and dust that I am familiar with
Not your silent and arctic planes
"

49 - Tuna Pesto

Cravings are often frustrating specially when it comes to food. You want something specific to eat and when you can't have it for any other reasons and then eat something else instead, it would seem like you're either unsatisfied or still hungry despite having already eaten.

I guess it would be one other reason why I did try to learn how to "cook" pasta, the other one because I had to cook for the monsters.

I have a tendency to crave pasta out of the blue, often times at very odd hours when there isn't any place open.

So far, I have moved to Tuna pesto from the regular tomato sauce. Maybe I would tackle Carbonara next...we'll see.

48 - Just Let Go

You know those days when everything was running smoothly; was almost perfect and something comes up to ruin everything? I seem to be having that day.

Despite being late for training earlier, I had fun at the office with my batch mates. I feel like I've gained insight on the things I needed to know at work.

Then I went out with my friend Steph to watch Samurai X. Yes that damn awesome movie. To top it all off, the credit ending song was One Ok Rock's "The Beginning" and here comes the asshole to ruin my parade.

I don't know. I don't know how I feel anymore. So right now, I'll just let everything go. I won't make one "undefined" event ruin what has been a most awesome day. I won't spend more time thinking over something I don't even have a clue where it came from. Blind-sided. Yeah. I might regret what I might have said in return but it's done. Just letting it go.

47 - Cry Me a River

Despite loving the cold weather, the storm has Rebel upset, because he now understands that rain means no walk for him.

Here he is lying by the gate in our garage watching the rain. Poor Rebel. If dogs know how to pray then God must listen to them often, the storm has passed already and I'm sure he's anticipating his walks.

46 - Shades of Grey

Busted my glasses before my trip to Iloilo. SO I was there half blind. LOL

Since I only busted the frames, I opted to just get new frames than also getting new lenses. Less costly that way.

And since this would involve either a smaller frame or the same size, I chose for the same brand and the same model. Unfortunately they no longer had anything in black. Went with grey than brown or red.

red would have been cool. But, I like neutral colors better.

45 - A Bug in a Diner

I love dining in places with interesting decor, of course with really really good food.

Aside from the opportunities to take photos, there's the sense of wonder and to look up things within the place while waiting for our orders to arrive.

I have to admit that the unused VW shell smack in the middle of the diner was nothing usual for me. Added the fact that it's a VW, I knew my dad would like the place.

Speaking of VW, I can't wait for this weekend's event. I definitely would have more photos on VWs.

44 - A Chicken Story

Chicken is a very very common factor at home.

We often have chicken for lunch or not dinner. It's not that I don't like chicken. I actually love them, as food I mean.

I think it's the frequency on how we have them for meals. I guess a contributing factor would be the monsters. They tend to love chicken. Added the fact that Rebel was in the pound once for escaping and raiding a household and their chickens.

(There's no chance I'll ever see them as pets. My family used to have a poultry and chicken have been introduced to me as food at a very young age. Frogs have a higher percentage of being a pet than chickens would ever have in my book.)

43 - They Grow on Trees

Giant Christmas tree is the in thing in malls.

I have to admit that they're rather fetching in the over abundance of decor and pulled it off quite well without being gaudy. So kudos to their "designer" if malls actually hire such for mall decorations and such.

42 - Of Mirrors and Light

We don't have the best lighting in the apartment, thus despite the full length mirror in the second floor landing, a smaller one is pretty handy. Specially when putting on make-up. LOL Yes I did say one of the M words.

Come to think of it, mirrors used to scare me. It might have been because what we have in the living room back in Tacloban is an antique one. During power outages and having gas lamps and candles lighted, the mirror became creepier than usual.

Or it could just be my imagination running away from me again. I mean, it's the same house where I used to have nightmares of sharks. Yes...right after watching Jaws.

I believe I'm a rational person even when I was younger. I knew for a fact that under my bed is solid ground and that sharks do live in the ocean, I still imagine the darn things under my bed.

So right now, I don't really find mirrors in the apartment all that scary. But I still don't look at them directly in the dark either. Some things not up for discussion.

41 - Christmas on my Door

Came home from Iloilo with Christmas decor on my bedroom door.

It seems that my mother has asked my sister to put up Christmas decor this year. And since we can't have the traditional Christmas tree since we live with monsters, she opted to have decors on doors and walls.

And of course we have our fingers crossed that the monsters do not get too curious what the decors are.

40 - Backing Up

I am the type of person who do not delete images from my camera's memory card despite backing up copies on an external Hard drive and on my laptop, as well uploading them on G+.

There were times where I did delete images to save space for newer or more images. However, since having being unfortunately robbed of my cameras and external hard drives before, I have made a decision not to delete any images on my memory cards. Just in case. Sounds like paranoia. I know.

However, despite being rather more costly this practice has served me well. I have a tendency to delete files from my laptop and even on my external hard drive (between photos and anime, anime wins all the time).

So now, I try to store my memory cards safely and in rather unusual places.

39 - Adventure

This was taken on the day we had to return to Cebu. Already anticipating the next trip.

I am hoping we could make it to Bantayan Island one weekend this December or January. However, I still have the VW 2012 exhibit  in Manila next weekend. I did promise my father to go. I would have to miss out on my first Christmas party at the office though.

Oh yeah. I am back to the employed rat race. So far, I seem to like the company I've been hired. Liking the culture and the setup.

And a promise is a promise. definitely going to Manila soon and hopefully Bantayan and then Camotes and a few places in Cebu we haven't gotten around to visit yet.

38 - Taking Up Faith

And here we go again with churches.

Spent Sunday on a tour with Steph. Good thing we opted to hire a driver to take us to the places we wanted to go since it was a Sunday and there wasn't a lot of jeeps that were out and about. If we went backpacking on our own, I'm pretty sure we could have only visited a few churches.

We did miss a few since we got stuck in traffic in Janiuay cause there was a parade of some sort. Hopefully we get to go there the next time we're off to Iloilo. However, I am anticipating a much nearer island visit on our next travel. LOL

37 - Lighting Hope

My weekend in Iloilo was spent on walking around the city, visiting old churches and graveyards.

I am a person of faith. As questionable as I might seem, I too have faith. I did choose my religion, and I chose to believe, despite the number of times I wanted to give it up.

Despite my reservations with religion, I try to keep my faith.

Often, I light candles to thank for my blessings, sometimes I light them for penance, however I never forget to light a candle for hope. For anyone.

36 - Making an Impression

I'm not really the type to like fruity or flowery smelling perfumes. However I do have to admit there are some that are rather appealing. Call it personal choice or whatever reason why something not my usual type is currently what I want.

Scent is something a little odd for me. I like the fact that it's the one thing that triggers memory with more clarity than any of our senses. And of course the frustration of placing a scent to a memory has plagued me too many times.

And there are those moments, when you get a whiff of someone's perfume or cologne and it's just bloody appealing. One hell of an impression.

For me nothing compares to the guy who smelled like bloody strawberries when I was in uni, who also happened to work in the same company as I did a few years back. Despite ending up being friends, the guys still smells like strawberries whenever we meet up. I don't care if his girlfriend gives me the evil eye. He smells like strawberries for crying out loud.

35 - String

It's been a very long while since I played the guitar.
It has accumulated dust and it's wire loosened, now produce an ungodly sound.

I remember the first time I played the guitar. I asked my father for an acoustic guitar as a birthday gift when I was on my first year in high school.

The moment I got it, I practiced after homework, after dinner, during weekends. Playing my heart out, needing to learn how to play the instrument.

When I deemed I could at least play the guitar, with weeks after weeks of practice, I found out both my parents know how to play the guitar. They had fun watching me practice, get frustrated, sort of have a tiff with my own guitar like it was sentient.

Parents, I wouldn't even start to try and understand them.

34 - Sprinkled

Friendship is a box of candy sprinkled brownies.

This is a reminder of a typical night of talking, drinking, more talking, ranting, then more talking, then getting pissed off, then reading, insert a bit of work, and reading love stories in bouts of self-proclaimed break from work.

Thanks Lane. =)

33 - A Smile for a Zombie

My current key holder reminds me of the sunflowers on Plants vs Zombie game.

I understand why it's an addictive game. LOL I did spend a few hours playing the game. However, because I seem to have the attention span of a goldfich, I never even finished the game.

Rather spend hours playing better RTS games, however since I have CTS...well, let's just say I can't play them as much as I want to these days.

32 - I Live with Monsters

My sister and I had numerous slippers that ended up this way. Partially chewed off. Which is actually better than the new trend where Tinker would remove the rubber stoppers on the strap.

It would still look "pretty" but utterly useless.

So yes, I walk around the house with an imperfect pair of slippers, walk Rebel using a pair of strappy sandals with some of the straps frayed off due to the monsters chewing on them.

31 - An Early Visitor

Dinner with  my mother's side of the family is often eventful and a little more festive.

Seeing the Christmas decor on my aunt's house reminded me that Christmas is almost upon us. As much as a like the holiday, I am still a fan of New Year more. Thus I tend to be home with family on the New Year rather than during Christmas.

However this year might be different. I would probably be home this December. I have my fingers crossed on getting weekend offs or having no work on the holidays. But there is little chance of that...but I still hope.

30 - a Good Night

After traveling from Cebu, we went to our grandfather's wake immediately and got home pretty late...more like early morning of the next day.

Therefore it was a relief when we finally went home to rest. As much fun it was too meet up with family and friends, I needed my bed in a bad way.

Got my old room back, complete with the glow-in-the-dark stars and planets. LOL

Right now, it's time for me to say good night as well or good morning. My mom is going to kill me that I'm still up.

29 - Wake for an Absent Father

My grandfather's wake was attended most and prepared by the family he abandoned.

Despite the presence of people who I wish never existed...well...I can't have everything can I?
I'm happy to see family that I have not seen in the longest time.

This is one of the reason why I hate coming home. I have to gear up for battle. My family has more drama than shit I see on the telly.

It seems his death is only a beginning. There is a war I plan for us to win.

28 - A Drawn Line

Sometimes I look at this scarecrow (and its pair) and they give me the creeps.Sometimes they do look like simple figures with a drawn smile on them, which in itself is scary for me...other times they remind me of that movie, the harvesting of some monster.

I know. Sounds like my imagination is running away from me again.

Speaking of drawn smiles, I think a lot of people have them. I can't say I don't. I definitely do.
It's a reflection of how people in general are just...scared that we even compartmentalize our own smiles. Freaky. Yes.

27 - The Waiting Game

See them laying there all pretty? Only when they're asking for something. Conniving brats!

This is the monsters waiting for dinner.

26 - The Wrestling Match

This is the typical occurrence at home. Both monsters would play after eating, before eating, before their walk, after their walk...every bloody waking moment unless they are sleeping.

As much as my mother would like to have more decor in our apartment, living with these two monsters makes it not possible.

25 - Setting Time

Breakfast food for dinner.
Maybe it might be an odd thing to have for supper or I could be one of those people who like eating what one usually have for breakfast during lunch or dinner.

I could be. But another factor would be because I've been working on night shift most of my adult life.
What we would normally call our lunch time would be around 12 midnight or 2 in the morning. So my first meal of the day is always called breakfast, which is normally around dinner time.

Now that I am not working, I still like having breakfast food during normal dinner time. And it seems, if I get in, my new job would still be on the night shift.

Which is a good thing. I'm more functional at night as long as I wasn't in a marathon the whole day. LOL

Wish me luck!

24 - Waiting for an Opportunity

Sometimes the monsters would actually stay still for a few minutes (bliss) and just watch everyone.

Tinker has a habit of lying down on the landing and watch us or Rebel in the living room.

I remember the second time my parents met him. They were able to get in the apartment but couldn't get past the stairs. Tinker was barking like crazy, which woke me up (and not my phone ringing when my father called me to help out).

Tinker was a few weeks with us then, and he was still slightly underweight for his age. Pretty damn proud he would protect our home despite being small and even though it was my parents he was barking at.

23 - The Negotiation

This is Rebel and my sister negotiating on Rebel's night walk. He's trying to convince her that it's no longer raining and it's safe to take him outside.

22 - Inner Geek

I started wearing glasses when I was in uni. My friends from high school teased me a lot cause I was more geeky when we were in high school than I was in college.

However, I have accepted the fact that the requirement to wearing them was due to reading too much when I was younger specially when it got dark or under low lighting. (ehem) even now it seems. LOL

It's funny, how people would make certain assumptions just cause I wear them. Often it baffles me how some would think I could easily be convinced or influenced. Sure, I like reading and video games and pc games and animation...that influx of information does not equate to naivete.

It's just not a lot make that correlation and just assumes I'm an idiot. I don't think I help to elevate that impression since I am never good at beginnings.

But I have to admit often it's just so fun to prove them wrong.

21 - Thinker Whispers

The monsters in the living room. Pensively waiting for their night walk. This was taken right after they had their dinner and they know they're going for a walk after.

I am not a good trainer for our dogs, I do not have the patience to be very good at it. However, I am thankful that despite Tinker's phobia and issues with strangers and kids, he's good at guarding the house. I just can't walk him like we do with Rebel.

I have to take him out at night when everyone's asleep least he chases after people or anyone on a bike. My buddy is turning out to be rather strong and heavy.

We don't go to the main road. He's afraid of cars.
He runs and walks around the small dirt road in our apartment and plays with the small dogs on the neighborhood despite the fact that they hate him.

This is why i hate my neighbors. Hypocrites and a bunch of abusive assholes. No. I have not and have no plans to forgive that guy who threw a firecracker at my dog, just cause he thought Tinker was the stray dog who tries to bite him every time he walks by. You are the reason my dog has a phobia sad the reason he's rabid with strangers.

One night in jail was not enough in my book.

20 - Waiting for Cinderella

I am forever thankful that Tinker isn't into taking out his frustrations on shoes. My sneakers and flats are safe.

Although he does have a tendency to use my shoes as pillows.

19 - Tinker's Business

This is Tinker-is-busy mode, which is just fine for me. No, taking my clothes from the closet to use as a mat, no stealing my blanket, my slippers are safe from being chew toys. This is why I do invest to get him extra large edible chew toys. I am running out of slippers.

18 - Nut-Shell

My family is addicted to nuts I think. It's part of a default list for groceries. I am however more inclined to Nagaraya. Yes. I know. So freaking over-rated. However, the darn commercial might be right...can't stop once you pop. LOL

Monday, November 5, 2012

17 - Dog Walk

Rebel at Jollibee Parkmall: after walking from the apartment to the mall for dinner with my sister. He really really likes long walks but hates crowds. Now to get Tinker trained and have his phobia fixed, dog walks would be perfect. Well, if cats don't roam the streets would actually be more perfect.

16 - Pan

This is a photo of a bag of pandesal from Budong's Bakery. I like eating them when they're still hot. My sister likes them, and both monsters do as well. I try to buy a bag whenever I get the chance to pass by their bakery. However, there's no branch near the apartment. *sigh*

15 - Siesta

The usually turn up in my room after lunch...since my room is at the back of the apartment and not much sun comes in. And added the fact that they liked the AC or the electric fan turned on.

14 - Halloween Goody

Went to visit the queen on October 31st and got a Halloween goody for the exam as well as another exam coming up. Queens, what can I say?

13 - Colored Pencils

Colored pencils...well more eye makeup than the ones used for art class. However, considering art, the application and the materials for makeup are considered art or the subject for art.

12 - Doggy Bussiness

Rebel intent on finishing off the chew toy before Tinker wakes up.

Sneaky sneaky husky.
